Vonnie Mae Jean Martin, 81, of Ladson, South Carolina, widow of Joseph Eugene Martin, Sr., died Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held graveside Sunday, August 2, 2015, in Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road.

Vonnie was born August 16, 1933 in Selma, North Carolina, daughter of the late Raiford Leslie Harmon and the late Estelle Casey Harmon. She worked in civil service.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan A. Bosley and Laura A. Happney; four grandchildren, Samantha Estelle Bosley, Vonnie Jean McDonald, Louis Smith, Jr. and Jennifer Smith; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her children, Rebecca "Diane" Smith, Joseph Eugene Martin, Jr., and Lisa Kaye Martin; son-in-law, Robert Happney; grandsons, Frank Bosley and Brandon Happney; as well as three sisters and one brother.
