Vonnie Marvette Caddell

Vonnie Marvette Caddell, 80, of Summerville, SC, husband of Savaughn Ilderton Caddell, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at home surrounded by his family. His funeral service will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Rd, North Charleston, SC 29406, at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 22, 2014, in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Vonnie was born February 17, 1934 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Dewey Lee Caddell and the late Addie Lou Carrig. He retired from Westvaco where he worked as a machine operator for 50 years. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Savaughn Janet Caddell of Summerville, SC; son, Dayne Marvette Caddell and his wife, Leslie, of Summerville, SC; daughter, Corrie Helton and her husband, Shawn, of Goose Creek, SC; six grandchildren: Eric, Janet Marie, Kristina, Kimberly, Dayne Jr. and Brandon; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vonnie Marie Markham.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Charleston, 4975 LaCross Road, Suite 200, North Charleston, SC 29406.
