Vivian J. Hughes, 91, of Goose Creek, SC, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016. Her funeral service will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Vivian was born March 16, 1925 in Spartanburg, SC, one of eight children of the late William Elmore Jackson and the late Josie Leister Jackson. She was a retired cafeteria manager with Goose Creek High School. Vivian was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Goose Creek.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Hughes (Lois) of Goose Creek, SC, James Hughes (Bobbie) of Lancaster, SC; five grandchildren, Derrick Hughes, Holly Hughes, Trey Hughes, Rachel Hughes and Steven Hughes; nine great- grandchildren; and her sister, Maxine Humphries of Spartanburg, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude B. Hughes.
