Vivian Ratliff Holmes

Vivian Elaine Ratliff Holmes entered into eternal rest on the evening of December 12, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Residence, Johns Island, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends of Elaine Ratliff Holmes are invited to attend her graveside service, Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Riverview Memorial Park at 2 pm.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL this Tuesday afternoon from 5 until 7 pm.

Elaine was born October 28, 1952 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Fonso William Ratliff and the late Vivian Irene Boykin Ratliff.  She was a former cashier at Kroger and Northbridge Exxon and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Dallas Holmes; a son, Ronald David Ratliff and daughter-in-law, Missy of Charleston; a brother, Lorin Ratliff and his wife Mary Jo of Charleston; two sisters, Audrey M. Kirkland of Charleston and JoAnn Ratliff of North Charleston; two grandchildren, David Ratliff, Jr. and Ashley Ratliff; two great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and longtime friend, Danny Emery, all of who will miss her dearly.  She was predeceased by two brothers, George Ratliff and Bill Ratliff.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the care and support given by Dr. Orcutt and Dr. Nicolette and their staff, and the Roper Chemo and 5 South Nursing Staff.
