Vivian Hipsley Chapman, 88, of Summerville, SC died Monday, January 16, 2012, peacefully at home.
Born January 22, 1923 in Jersey City, NJ she was one of seven children of John Hipsley and Delia Stanlin Hipsley. Mrs. Chapman was a devout Christian. She was the founder of Ambassador's Art Gallery, a dedicated conservationist and an avid world traveler.
Mrs. Chapman is survived by her children: Virginia Sweeney of Jacksonville, FL, Nancy Wierwille of Ruidoso, NM, Robert Chapman of North Charleston, SC, Cheryl Olson of Anchorage, AK and Earl Chapman of St. Paul MN; numerous beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Ray Chapman.
The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Friday, January 20, 2012 between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.
