Vivian Rentz Barnett, 93, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018. Her funeral service will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 in Advent Lutheran Church, 3347 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL and Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 in Advent Church.

Vivian was born December 3, 1924 in North Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Little Berry Rentz and Catherine Gooding Rentz. She was a retired bookkeeper for Citizens and Southern National Bank and had been a member of Hampton Park Baptist Church, St. Andrews Lutheran Church, which she served as financial secretary, and Advent Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 75 years, William C. Barnett; son William C. Barnett, Jr. (Susan) of Broomfield, CO; and daughter, Marilyn Barnett (Gary Bachlund) of Berlin, Germany as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Lucile Whetsell, Beatrice Mazyck, Cecil Rentz and William Rentz.
