Virginia "Ginger" Schofield Richter

Virginia "Ginger" Schofield Richter, 75, of Johns Island, South Carolina, wife of Charles F. Richter, Sr., entered into eternal rest Monday, July 11, 2016 after a battle with brain cancer. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 14, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Ginger was born September 20, 1940 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Joseph Carter Schofield and Ruth Mixson Schofield. She was proud to be a wife and mother. Caring for her family was the joy of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Charles F. Richter, Sr., of Johns Island, SC; two daughters, Vicki Elizabeth Richter (Jeff Osburn) of Mt. Pleasant, and Carol Richter Coleman (Will) of Yonges Island, SC; five grandchildren, Charlie, Lee, Chris, Lisa, and Sara; five great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph C. Schofield, Jr., of Johns Island, SC. She is predeceased by a son, Charles Francis "C.J" Richter, Jr.
