Virginia “Ginny” Welch Pitts, 77, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Saturday, May 4, 2024. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, in Christ - St. Paul's Churchyard, Meggett, SC at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc. Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC.  Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Ginny was born July 1, 1946 in Columbia, South Carolina, daughter of the late Silas B. Welch and Virginia Rodgers Welch.  She was a graduate of Baptist College and retired from Nativity Catholic School where she was a schoolteacher and vice principal. 

She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Lilienthal, MD (Leslie) of Lake Worth, FL and Wendy Colvin (John) of Winchester, TN; four grandchildren, Rachel Lilienthal, Robert Lilienthal, Adeline Colvin, and Alexander Colvin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Abraham Pitts, Jr.
