Virginia (Gaetjens) Lee

March 8, 1920 — October 28, 2011

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of October 28, 2011, Virginia Gaetjens Lee, widow of Alison Perry Lee. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services in Martin Luther Lutheran Church Monday, October 31, 2011 at 11:00 am. Interment, Magnolia Cemetery. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Sunday between 4:00 and 6:00 pm.

Mrs. Lee was born March 8, 1920 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of August E. Gaetjens and Mathilde Schallwig Gaetjens. She attended Newberry College and was a graduate of the College of Charleston. Virginia was a charter member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Lee Hare (George Kornhoff) of Alta Loma, CA, Nancy Lee Gillette of James Island and Janice Lee Knight (Jimmy) of Charleston; three grandchildren, Chuck (Pam), Michele (George) and Amy; and four great-grandchildren, Michael, Morgan, Maddy and Alyssa. She was predeceased by a son, Alison Perry Lee, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Operating Fund, 1605 Harbor View Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
