Virginia Dawson Henderson, 76, of Canton, GA formerly of Charleston, SC, passed away on March 14, 2015. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 19, 2015 in St. Theresa Little Flower Catholic Church, at 11:00 am. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will follow at Carolina Memorial Park at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, with the Rosary at 7:00 pm.
For the past three years she lived in Canton, GA, where she moved to be near her oldest daughter. Virginia was born in Charleston, SC to the late John E. Dawson and Eulalie Jones Dawson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman J. Henderson, Sr.
Virginia graduated from Bishop England High School. She enjoyed 20 plus years as a real estate agent. She loved helping people buy and sell homes - it was her true passion. Virginia also enjoyed sewing, gardening and flower arranging. She loved to travel and was ready for a trip at a moment's notice.
She is survived by her two daughters, Toni (Michael) Henderson McMahon of Canton, GA and Jennifer Henderson Grace of Hudson, NC; her son, Herman (Jennifer) J. Henderson, Jr. of Summerville, SC. Virginia spoiled four grandchildren, Madlynne Henderson of Summerville, SC, Justin McMahon of Canton,GA and Macy and Noah Grace of Hudson, NC. Virginia had one brother, John (Caroline) E. Dawson, III and a sister, Barbara Dawson. Her sister, Clinton "Angie" (Gene) Jarrett preceded her in death. She had many beloved nieces and nephews. She was also survived by a "special daughter" Sue Crance and blessed with a very caring neighbor of 23 years, David (Syandia) Moultrie, who she considered a second son.
