Virginia Ruth Doudiet

Virginia Ruth Platt Doudiet, 95, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Samuel B. Doudiet entered into eternal rest Sunday, October 11, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 in James Island Presbyterian Church, 1632 Fort Johnson Road at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Christ Saint Paul's Churchyard, Meggett, SC. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 15, 2015 at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel from 5:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m.

Ruth was born July 20, 1920 in Adams Run, South Carolina, daughter of Tillman Harmon Platt and Georgie Ella Fox Platt. She was a 1944 graduate of the Medical College School of Nursing and a retired registered nurse. She was an active member of James Island Presbyterian Church and enjoyed her friends in her Sunday School class as well as her Tuesday Circle. She had a loving and generous spirit.

She is survived by her son, Norman Williams Doudiet of James Island; daughter, Elizabeth Doudiet Tyrrell (Charles) of Hollywood, SC; two grandchildren, Rainey Elizabeth Tyrrell and Michelle Renee Doudiet; one sister, Eunice P. Oliver of Charleston, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
