Virginia Goud Chandler, 83, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Foster Frasier Chandler, entered into eternal rest Friday, November 29, 2013. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Hwy, at 2:00 pm. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
Virginia was born February 6, 1930 in Georgetown County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Pearlie Wilson Goud and Mary Rawls Goud. She was the office manager at Chandler and Rhea, CPA, LLC. She was an active member of Ashley River Baptist Church, where she taught adult Sunday school for many years.
Virginia is survived by her two daughters, Marcia Chandler Rhea (Randy) of Charleston, SC and Patsy Fenters O'Connor (Daniel, Sr.) of Boca Raton, FL; sister, Janie Jordan of Florence, SC; three grandchildren, Robert O'Connor, Daniel O'Connor, II and Chandler Rhea; two great-grandchildren, Logan Michael O'Connor and Caitlin Emery O'Connor.
Among other interests, Virginia enjoyed travel, music, theater, design, fashion and books. A devoted follower of Christ, Virginia was beloved by her family, friends and community. Her presence will be dearly missed; her memory will be cherished.
