Violet Lucile Horne

Violet H. Horne, 87, of North Charleston, SC, wife of the late Arthur Roy Horne, died Friday, December 27, 2013. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013 in the J.HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, December 30, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Violet was born July 10, 1926 in Brunswick, Georgia, daughter of the late James Burford Hill and the late Emily Brewer Hill. She was a postal clerk with the US Postal Service for 17 years. Violet was a longtime member of Riverbluff Church. She also belonged to the Port Royal Chapter of Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons: Art Horne (Margaret) of Myrtle Beach and Mike Horne of North Charleston, SC; six grandchildren: Lynn Bledsoe (Billy), Dan Horne (Julia), Christy Hassett (Richard), James Horne, Andy Horne (Chanda), Debbie Perdue (Richard); 13 great-grandchildren: Kirbilynn Bledsoe, Abigail Hassett, Elijah Hassett, Annabelle Hassett, Mary Henry, Mallory Horne, Rhayne Horne, Asher Horne, Sadie Horne, Kylie Horne, Madeline Horne, Ashley Perdue, and Lyndsey Perdue.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Arthur Roy Horne Sr., her parents, brothers: Brewer Hill and Clarence Hill, and sister, Carrie Belle Miller.
