Violet S. Harper

Violet S. Harper, 75, of Charleston, SC, wife of David C. Harper Sr.died Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Her funeral service will be held on Friday December 20, 2013 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. NORTH AREA CHAPEL at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to service.

Violet was born September 27, 1938 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Jewell Ward and her late adoptive parents Jeffords Scott and Audrey Walling Scott. She was the owner of Harper Candy & Gifts located at Charles Town Square Mall.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years David C. Harper Sr.; two daughters, Kimberly Wilkins (Tom) of North Charleston, SC, Paula McDonnell of Summerville, SC; son, David C. Harper Jr. (Julia) of Edisto Beach, SC; nine grandchildren, Joseph, Lauren and Allison Meyerhoff, Jennifer Wilkins, Megan Madercic, Philip McDonnell, David C.Harper III, Alan and Jennifer Harper; and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Lynn Harper and her brother, James Scott.
