Kip had many interests and passions. He loved the art of his job, and was a true artist and craftsman, as one can see from his beautiful cooper roofs throughout the city of Charleston and the Lowcountry. Kip was a keen history buff and he studied the Civil War including attending reenactments at Boone Hall Plantation. Kip enjoyed the wonderful ocean views from Kiawah rooftops and often sent pictures to his daughter Rachel. Kip was a caring person and enjoyed being with his family and friends, especially Joe and Paula Wells who were both friends and family to Kip.
