A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the Seacoast Church Chapel in Mount Pleasant at 11:00am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Tory was born on May 5, 1953 in Mount Holly, New Jersey, daughter of Mary Jane O'Brian Reeves Rees and the late Ferguson Reeves. She met the love of her life, Jim, just after high school and they were married on August, 30 1975. They had two beautiful daughters whom she loved unconditionally. Tory was a beloved daughter, a proud wife, a nurturing mother and grandmother, a devoted sister, a fun aunt and a steadfast friend. She worked tirelessly for the New Jersey State Department of Health for 42 years, most recently as a WIC Program Auditor. Tory was a positive light in the world who genuinely cared for the welfare of others through her many acts of generosity. After retirement, she and her husband relocated to Mt. Pleasant, SC to live near their daughters and their families. Tory enjoyed hosting family and friends in her home, spending time with her grandchildren and trips to the beach. She was a source of love, strength and encouragement to all those around her. She was selfless and her love for others was fierce; she never met a person she didn't like. Tory will be dearly missed, but her kind and humble spirit will live on in all those who loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jim; her mother, Mary Jane Rees of SC; two daughters, Lauren Watercutter (Mark), and Victoria A. Mele all of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister, Debbie Reis (Robert) of Jackson, NJ; brother, Fergie Reeves (Karen) of Lawrenceville, NJ; sister, Jennifer Pederson (Roy) of Lambertville, NJ; two grandchildren, Landon and Weston Watercutter, and many nieces and nephews.
