Victor (Vic) H. Musmanno, 84, of Helotes, TX, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, in the loving arms of his wife of 43 years, Madeleine Dwoiakowski-Musmanno, and his son, Victor (Vic) H. Musmanno II (Class of 1986). He is survived by four grandchildren; Cornelia A. Musmanno, Augustus A. Musmanno, Enzo V. Musmanno, and Maris M. Musmanno, and siblings; Dr. Patricia Musmanno Homer, James M. Musmanno, Anne Musmanno Blocksidge, Daniel G. Musmanno, and Dr. Mark Clark Musmanno. Previously deceased is his eldest brother Dr. Neal V. Musmanno Jr.

Vic was born on December 7, 1940, in McKees Rocks, PA, the third of seven children to the late Dr. Neal Victor and Anne Barna Musmanno. He excelled as a multi letter athlete at Stowe High School graduating in 1958.

Attending The Citadel (Golf Company) on General Mark Clark and football scholarships, he played football for three years before being injured on the field, was a “favorite” Lamb of The Boo, held cadet rank, on, and off, and graduated in 1962. He was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force, where he was decorated for his valorous service in the Vietnam War and retired honorably at the rank of Lt. Colonel at Tempelhof Air Base, Berlin, Germany. He continued his life in Germany, where he had a career in international banking and the American Red Cross, until his final retirement near San Antonio, TX.

Great joy was brought to Vic during his final days, knowing his Citadel legacy would continue with news of one of his grandsons matriculating into The Class of 2029 Corps of Cadets.

Vic will be forever remembered for his generosity to all who would accept, boyish sense of humor, love for his Alma Mater, and reverence for veterans and their military service. He was a magician on the pitcher’s mound who could throw an incredible knuckleball! Husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and uncle will be sadly missed.
