Victor Wallace "Slick" Martensen, Jr., 43, of Ravenel, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 1, 2013. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 in the J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, at 2:30 pm . Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8 pm in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.
Victor was born July 19, 1969 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Victor Wallace Martensen and Lillie Brown Hady. Victor lost his life battle due to Glioblastoma Disease of the Brain. He learned carpentry from his grandfather, was a former owner of Complete Lawn Mower Repair, and a member of Boy Scouts of America. Victor was a small engine master mechanic and an avid Dale Earnhardt NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his mother and step father Lillie M and James A. Hady of Ravenel; his father, Victor Wallace Martensen of Ravenel; his maternal grandfather Bunnie Brown of Ravenel, SC; daughter, April Ann Martensen of Corpus Christi, TX; son, Brian Andrew Martensen of Walterboro; sisters, Renay (Bruce) Petrick of Summerville, Kimberly (John) Winn of Charleston; God Mother, Debra Burbage of Orangeburg; four nieces and nephews and a special companion Jean McKenzie.
