Veronica Margaret Benke

Veronica M. Benke, 84, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, died Friday, September 13, 2013. The relatives and friends of Ronnie and her family are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, September 16, 2013 in the Stella Maris Catholic Church, 1204 Middle Street at 11:00 am. Prayers of Final Commendation and farewell will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the residence, 1010 Chambers Lane, Mt. Pleasant on Sunday, September 15, from 2:00 until 4:00 pm. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Ronnie was born on April 4, 1929 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Daniel Joseph Benke and the late Katherine Chapman Benke. She was a graduate of Bishop England High School and a fifth generation Charlestonian. Moma was a very creative person and had a great love of animals.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Mitchell of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Anita Garrett (Norman) of Aiken, SC, one brother, Daniel J. Benke, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC, one sister, Dora O'Bryan of Mt. Pleasant, SC, grandchildren Ryan (Julia), Ian, and Catherine. Moma was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen.
