Vernon Edward Johnson, 54, of Meggett, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 14, 2018. His Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC.,WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
Vernon was born May 9, 1963 in Fernandina Beach, Florida, son of Lynda Johnson Boccella and the late Victor Edward Johnson. He was a construction worker and during his career in the construction trade, he worked as a house framer primarily and later he worked in remodeling and restoration. The job he was most proud of was the Aiken House in Downtown Charleston. He hand made the spindles for the staircase, which was no easy task. Vernon loved to read and study history, especially The Civil War era. He loved riding motorcycles, being outdoors with nature and animals of every kind. He especially loved Pit bulls and eventually became known to everyone as "Bulldog".
He is survived by his mother, Lynda Boccella, a sister Penny Bearden, his partner, Michele A Blancett; her sisters, Marilyn Laserna and Sherri McCall and parents, Mickey and Judy Blancett.
