Vernelle All Ulmer, 94, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of James B. Ulmer entered into eternal rest Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in James Island Presbyterian Church, 1632 Fort Johnson Road at 11:00 a.m. where burial will follow in the churchyard. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Vernelle was born August 27, 1923 in Ridgeville, South Carolina, daughter of the late Joseph All and Eva Marie Wimberly All. She was a devoted retired administrative assistant with the Charleston County Health Department and a life member of James Island Presbyterian Church. Vernelle spent a lifetime cultivating camellias in which she received many awards. She and her husband were well known for hosting wonderful oyster roasts.
Vernelle is survived by her daughter, Nita Shuler Corley of Leesville, SC; three grandchildren: Kelley Shuler-Armsey (Tom) of Columbia, SC, Kim Shuler of Chapin, SC and Michael Shuler II (Kathryn) of Columbia, SC; five great-grandchildren: Lauren, Erin, Landen, Cole and Mary Kathryn; great-great-granddaughter, Sophia; sister, Charlotte Reeves of Charleston, SC; and many nieces and nephews.
