Vera Carter Peters, 86, widow of Ben Peters passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 with her family at her side. The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Tommy Peters on Thursday, March 16, 2017 after 5:00 pm. A graveside service will be on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at Riverview Memorial Park followed by a Memorial Service at J. HENRY STUHR , INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 1:00 pm.

Vera was preceded into death by her husband of 62 years, Ben Peters, and her brother, H.G. Carter. She is survived by her children, Mary E. Peters and
Thomas C. Peters (Sterling); grandchildren Benjamin T. Peters (Allison) and Sarah Legare Peters; sisters, Betty Jones of Columbia, SC and Linda Fesperman (Homer) of Lexington, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

Vera lead a special life raising her children and as a loving wife and lifelong partner to her husband Ben. Together they were avid travelers and held their families as their closest friends. Vera was an enthusiastic bridge and tennis player. She was very compassionate, she loved animals and always had a pet at her side, with "Baby" being her special companion.

The family wishes to thank Care For Life Caregivers; Carole Howard, Ashley Horlback and Dorothy Todd, for their above and beyond kindness and Lutheran Hospice nurses and staff for their care and guidance.
