Vannie "Van" Wright Jr., 46, of Moncks Corner, SC, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 9, 2012 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 2:00 pm with his uncle Rev. Michael R. Lowry, Sr. officiating. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Van was born December 15, 1965 in Charleston, SC, son of Vannie Wright and Shirley Tarr Wright. He was a former Real Estate Broker and volunteered with his community. He was always there for his family and friends in need of help, always putting others before himself. He was a Christian who loved God. Van had a beautiful voice, loved life, helping people, hunting, fishing, loved to play bingo and was a great cook and had many, many friends who admired and loved him. His grandchildren, Nicole and Johana, were the loves of his life and he helped raised them.
He is survived by his mother and father, Shirley T. Wright and Vannie Wright of Moncks Corner, SC; wife, Betty Sue Wright of Summerville, SC, a sister, Laurie Wright Brooks (Scott Adam Brooks) of Summerville, SC, a brother, Scott Christopher Wright of Summerville, SC, aunts, Carolyn Sarota (Paul) of FL, Ginnie Strang (Bob) of Mt. Holly, SC, Maudine Wright of Ridgeville, SC; uncles, Dannie Wright (Betty) of Summerville, SC, Pastor Michael R. Lowry Sr. (Mary Jo) of Moncks Corner, SC and Wilson Bernhard (Glenda) of Summerville, SC; nieces/nephews: Ashley Kristin Hollis, Justin Christopher Wright, Victoria Lauren Taylor Wright, Heather Autumn Hollis, Madelyne Paige Wright; maternal aunt, Rose Marie McDonald of Las Vegas, NV; 22 cousins; step daughters, Holly Gomez (Andres), Suzette Rowe (Carl) and Chyna Motley; step sons: Christopher Rhodes, Zachery Motley and Henry Motley; grandchildren, Nicole and Johana, Buddy and Elizabeth, and Natalia. Van was preceded in death by his aunt, Shirley Lowry, uncle, Silas Jasper Wright, paternal grandparents, Silas and Leasie Wright and maternal grandparents, Minnie and Ulys Tarr.
He will be sadly missed by his family.
