Valma Lorene Coward

Entered into eternal rest on the evening of August 6, 2011, Valma Lorene Coward, wife of John A. Coward of North Charleston, SC.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Coward are invited to attend her funeral service in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Thursday, August 11, 2011, at 2:00 pm.  Interment, Carolina Memorial Park.  Friends may call at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel 1:00pm until the time of the service.

Mrs. Coward was born on October 15, 1943 in St. George, SC; a daughter of Sylvester Easterling and Muriel McAlhany Easterling.

Mrs. Coward retired as a budget analyst from Fort McPherson, Georgia. She was a Baptist and attended Friendship Baptist Church, North Charleston and First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John of North Charleston, SC; daughter, Lorene Sharee Coward of Moncks Corner, SC; brother, Clifford "Bucky" Easterling and his wife Betty of Moncks Corner, SC and sister, Bonnie Perry and her husband Roland of Moncks Corner, SC; nieces and nephews.     

She was preceded in death by her parents and son John David Coward in 1968.
