Valerie Doris
Barth
Mar 13, 1942 — May 20, 2026
Valerie Doris Barth, 84, of North Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on March 13, 1942, Valerie was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Soracco Facchini and was a member of the Cliffside Park High School class of 1959.
Valerie was a pillar of strength and stability for her family, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally. She is remembered as the warmest person who delighted in the company of all people. Professionally, Valerie dedicated herself to a career as a Paralegal, forming lasting relationships with the attorneys, colleagues, and clients. In later years, she worked in real estate, making friends with everyone who stepped foot in the Point Pleasant Beach office of Diane Turton Realtors.
Valerie’s proudest achievement was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her cherished children: Liz Barth Stacy and her husband Bob of Johns Island, South Carolina; Christine Granite of Spring Lake, New Jersey; Ginny Fitzgerald and her husband Mark of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; Gerry Barth Sr. and his wife Sydnie of Colts Neck, New Jersey; and Kevin Barth and his wife Kelly of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Valerie was a loving grandmother to Jeffery, Lindsay, Johnny, Tyler, Nicole, Samantha, Jaime, Gerry Jr., Lauren, Paige, Rachel, Brendan, and David; and a proud great-grandmother to Griffin, Chayse, Schuler, Hadley, Brian, William, Kaiya, Christopher, and Gerry III.
She also is survived by her sister, Claudia Bolcik and her husband Robert of Bradenton, Florida, and her nieces and nephews Bridget, Bruce, Paul, and Jenifer who were all very special to her.
Her loving family cherished their time together with Valerie. All will miss her Friday and Sunday night dinners, infamous homemade pancakes, bread, and cookies, and her willingness to help anyone with whom she crossed paths. She was considered “Mom” to many!
A Funeral Service to honor Valerie’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the J. Henry Stuhr, Mount Pleasant Chapel, located at 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m.
