Valeria E. Gleason

Valeria E. Singletary Gleason, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Daniel J. Gleason entered into eternal rest Monday, June 3, 2013. Her funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Gleason was born March 11, 1924 in Berkeley County, South Carolina, daughter of Clarence E. Singletary and Florie Myers Singletary. She was a graduate of Cross High School and member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church. Mrs. Gleason was a former sales associate with J.C. Penney. She enjoyed her hobbies crocheting and quilt making. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter: Alice M. Cooper of James Island, SC; three sons: John H. Kline, Jr. (Barbara) of James Island, SC; Gerald A. Kline (Julia) of Lawndale, NC and Albert R. Kline (Deborah) of James Island, SC; eight grandchildren: John Kline, Susan Kline, Michael Cooper, Thomas Kline, David Kline, Daniel Cooper, Brooke Cruanes and Amanda Kline; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, Everett Singletary of Yonges Island, SC and sister, Hazel Rast of North Charleston, SC.
