The family of Tyler James Lazarczyk, of Charleston, South Carolina, is saddened to announce his passing on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at the age of 33. He was born on March 15, 1993 in Newark, DE. As a youth, he enjoyed all sports and played on several teams. He graduated from Brandywine High School in Wilmington, DE. As a young man, Ty learned the trade of stone masonry in PA. When he moved to Charleston, he started his own business, Stone Cold Masonry, that reflected his hard work, skill, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Ty loved his family and his pets. He was happiest when surrounded by family, whether at a gathering or on vacation together. He was glued to the television during football season and, despite growing up in the Philadelphia area, remained a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed cooking, especially grilling, and gardening and was always ready to go fishing.
Ty is survived by his mother and stepfather, Missy Huss and Larry Towsey, of Charleston, SC; his father, Mark Lazarczyk (April) of Summerville, SC; sisters, Kelly Carlson (Eric) of Bastrop, TX and Rachel Lewis (Chase) of Audobon, PA; brother, Steve Towsey (Nicole) of Lincoln University, PA; grandmother, Patricia Lazarczyk of Wilmington, DE; and his beloved girlfriend, Abigail Scherch of Mt. Pleasant, SC. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jim and Frances Huss; paternal grandfather, Frank Lazarczyk; and an uncle, Todd Huss, with whom he shared a special bond.
A Celebration of Ty will be held Friday, September 18, 2026 at the American Legion Post 147, 968 Folly Rd, Charleston, SC 29412. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, services at 6:00 pm, followed by dinner in honor of Ty. His services will be live-streamed with a link to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Pet Helpers Adoption Center, 1447 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel.
