Tyler Jacob Karolczyk

November 15, 1991 — November 12, 2011

Tyler Jacob Karolczyk tragically passed away at the age of 19, in Clemson, South Carolina, on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Tyler was a sophomore at Clemson University studying for his business degree.

Tyler was born on November 15th, 1991 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to his parents, Gregg and Gayle Karolczyk. Tyler and his family, including his younger brother Jackson, lived in many states prior to settling in Mount Pleasant when Tyler was just 10 years old. While growing up in Mt. Pleasant, Tyler was a talented and competitive athlete. He played many sports with the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Department and was a member of the Diamond Warrior Baseball Club. Tyler went on to attend Wando High School and played on the Wando Warrior Baseball team. Tyler's family enjoyed spending time together and would spend weekends outdoors camping, golfing, boating and kayaking. He adored spending time with his dog Choco, as well as their other dogs, Pearl and Lola.

Tyler was a special gift to his family. He was a selfless, caring, and thoughtful son, grandson, friend, and brother. He was a positive influence on everyone who was around him and always took the high road. Tyler loved music – especially Dave Matthews, Corey Smith, Counting Crows and Eric Church. Tyler was a loyal friend and a lifelong Clemson Tigers fan. Friends that will remember him most fondly are Tyler Seeley, Daniel Rebula, Ben Keane, Casey Shumberger and Jonathan Lee. It became his dream to attend college with his boyhood friends. Life took him to Clemson. As any young college student, Tyler loved hanging out with his friends, keeping up with his Fantasy football teams and cheering on his Clemson Tigers. He was an outstanding student and was already running his own baseball card business while attending classes.

In addition to his parents and brother, Tyler is survived by his maternal grandmother, Lydia Bruce Haynie and his paternal grandmother, Donna Jean Karolczyk, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tyler will be greatly missed by all of his friends in Mt. Pleasant and Clemson who knew him as a loyal, trustworthy, and reliable friend.
