Tucker William Wisse, 23, beloved son of Martin J. Wisse, Jr. and Nancy Martin Wisse, both of Mt. Pleasant, SC died on Saturday, May 26, 2012. The relatives and friends of Tucker Wisse are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Sullivan's Island, SC at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at J.HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
Tucker was born on March 31, 1989, in Charleston, SC. He was a 2008 graduate of Wando High School and attended Trident Technical College. Tucker was a member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church. Tucker Wisse grew up on the Isle of Palms, living only minutes from the beach. He and his older brother Jake quickly developed a passion for surfing. As Tucker grew older, his tightly knit group of friends kept expanding, and today it includes most of the surfing community in the Lowcountry. Tucker will be remembered by all that knew him, in and out of the water, for his kind heart and his dedication to all his friends. There was an openness about Tucker that everyone who met him could appreciate. He was genuine in every respect. Today, there is a big hole in our hearts and he will be missed deeply by his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, his brothers, Martin J. Wisse III and his wife, Holly, of Marietta, GA, and Jake Wisse of Charleston; his uncles, William Sieper and his wife, Jean, of San Francisco, CA, and David Martin of Myrtle Beach, SC; his aunts, Sally M. Gadd and her husband Charlie of Wake Forest, NC, Martha M. Hamrick and her husband Shep of Shelby, NC, and Rebecca M. McMillan and her husband Keith of Myrtle Beach, SC; his cousins, David Gadd, Laura Gadd and Will Gadd of Wake Forest, NC, Henry Martin and Bratton Martin of Charleston, SC, Amanda Eckenrode, Street Hamrick and Joanna Hamrick, all of Shelby, NC, and Alec, Zachary and Sadie McMillan of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elbert and Sadie Martin, and his paternal grandparents, Martin J. and Carolyn Wisse.
The family requests memorials be made to The Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
