TSGT William Olen Lowery USAF, Retired

William Olen "Bill" Lowery, 70, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Barbara Beasley Lowery, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 in a local hospital.

Born March 7, 1942 in Hartsville, SC; he was the son of Olen Eugene Lowery and Nancy Elizabeth Lee Lowery Hart. He was a retired TSGT with the US Air Force. Bill was the head bagger at the Charleston Air Force Base Commissary for 22 years and enjoyed working with "his girls". Bill was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years Barbara; three daughters: Sherri K. Walden (Billy) of Moncks Corner, SC; Shanna L. Petry (Michael) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Cassandra L. White of Wachula, FL; son, Scott Lowery of Greer, SC; nine grandchildren: Lee Walden, Kayla Walden Thomas (Phillip), Kyle Walden, Michael John Petry, Ella Grace Petry and Ava Marie Petry, Kailah White, Karley White and Madison White; great-grandson, Evinray Thomas; brothers and sisters: Fred Lowery (Linda) of Florence, SC; Delaine Lowery Wright (Henry) and Janice Lowery Cleveland (Doug) all of Simpsonville, SC; sister-in-law, Pat Bryant (Pee Wee) of McClellanville, SC; many nieces and nephews and his pal Penelope.

The funeral service will be held at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Monday, May 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Interment with full military honors will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel one hour prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
