Truman Denton Greene, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Sybil Huff Greene entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 24, 2017. The family will receive friends Friday, May 26, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday at the Graveside in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road at 10:00 a.m.
Truman was born September 25, 1929 in Possum Kingdom, Greenville County, SC, son of the late Joe Bill Greene and Eva White Greene. He was a U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran and retired from The Charleston Naval Shipyard. Truman was a member of Local Brick Mason Union and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Greene (Bobby Hagan), two sons, Truman D. Greene, Jr., (Susan), and Ernest Glenn Greene (Winona) all of Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Greene Huff of Greenville, SC. He was predeceased by two daughters, Donna Louise Greene, Cynthia Greene Lott, and a brother, Pete Greene.
