Troy "Bobby" Augustus Benton, 73, of Goose Creek, SC, died Monday, February 8, 2016. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 11:00 am. Interment will follow, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to the service in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Bobby was born September 21, 1942 in Cross, SC, son of the late Troy A. Benton Sr. and the late Ethel Mae Clark Benton. He was a retired carpenter, member of Dorchester Masonic Loge 369 AFM in North Charleston, SC and Lydia Baptist Church in Summerville, SC.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jamie Benton of Goose Creek, SC; three grandchildren, Ashley Curry and her husband Steven, Mandy Gilbert and Robert "Bobby" Barrs IV; great-grandson, Cameron Gilbert; son-in-law, Robert Barrs III; three sisters, Lana Smith and her husband Leon of Moncks Corner, SC, Gail Wheeler and her husband Brian and Kathleen Spain and her husband Roy. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Barrs.
