Travis Whitson, born May 18, 1927 in Itasca, Texas, lived a long and full 85 years. He died Friday, November 16, 2012 at home. He served in the US Navy for 26 years including WWII and retired as Chief and also retired from civil service.

He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge 401, served as president of the Shriner's, member of American Legion Post 166, member of Fleet Reserve, 40 and 8, and Tin Can Sailors.

The legacy he wishes to leave is love your God and family as if tomorrow will be your last day and you can die in peace.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, November 18, 2012 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 11:00 am. Interment with military honors will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.
