Tommie was born June 4, 1952 in Conway, South Carolina, son of the late Robert Boyd and Mildred Munnleryn Boyd. He was a US Army veteran and firefighter during the Vietnam war. Tommie was a retired diesel mechanic.
He is survived by his sons, Tommie Boyd, Jr. (Jan) of Summerville, SC and John Boyd (Jalietta) of North Charleston, SC; daughter, Stacy Elizabeth Boyd of Charleston, SC; grandchildren Taylor and Tori Boyd, Ryan Boyd, Cody and Katie Barnes, John Boyd Jr., Jericho Boyd, Mazzetta Noel Boyd and Isabella Athena Boyd; brother Major General Larry Lee Boyd, USA (Ret.)
