Toby Kronrad Hirsch

Toby Kronrad Hirsch, 91, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Danny Hirsch entered into eternal rest Monday, June 25, 2018. Her funeral service will be held graveside Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in Brith Sholom Beth Israel Cemetery (Maryville), Sycamore Avenue at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Toby was born July 5, 1926 in Columbia, SC daughter of the late Oskar Kronrad and Fannie Lungen Kronrad. She attended the University of South Carolina and retired from World Book Encyclopedia as an area manager. After retiring, she worked for George's Loan and Music on King Street. She devoted over 25 years to St. Francis Hospital where she received multiple awards including Volunteer of the Year. Toby was a member of Brith Sholom Beth Israel Synagogue.

Family was very important to Toby. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be truly missed.

She is survived by her two daughters: Nancee Hirsch Cope (Larry) of Columbia, SC and Cathy Hirsch Rovick (Alan) of Charleston, SC; sister, Helen Kronrad Coplan of Columbia, SC; eight grandchildren: Lauren Rovick, Abby Rovick, Charen Cope Simmons (Jason), Daniel Rovick, Ethan Rovick, Brian Cope (Brandi), Brandon Cope (Tricia), Jonathan Cope (Mandy); and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Oskar Kenneth Hirsch.
