Timothy L. Mclaughlin

Timothy "Timmy" Lawrence McLaughlin, 62, of Goose Creek, SC, husband of Kathy Hoover McLaughlin, died Thursday, June 9, 2011 in a local hospital.

Born March 12, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina, he was a son of Clemmie Jeffers McLaughlin and the late Joseph Francis McLaughlin.

Timmy was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America, from his childhood to becoming a leader at the Silver Beaver Level, Eagle Scout Evaluator and instructor for those who wanted to seek the honor of Eagle Scout.  He was current National President of the American Subcontractors Association; former president of ASAC in 2000-2001 and 2003-2004. He received the Virginia Casey Short Award in 2005.   A graduate of Bishop England High School, he was a member of the Triple-B Club.

Timmy is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathy; son, Andrew Sean McLaughlin of Ladson; daughter, Molly Elizabeth McLaughlin of Goose Creek; brothers and sisters and their spouses: Bernard and wife Joyce McLaughlin; Robert and wife Somai McLaughlin; Marie and husband Carl Lilvik; Joseph and wife Lucretia McLaughlin; Kathleen McLaughlin; Mary Jane Turner and Michael McLaughlin; 13 nieces and nephews; 8 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Pallbearers for the service will be Danny Forsberg, Brian Johnson, Frankie DuRoss, Robert Hoover, Larry Bendt, and Joseph McLaughlin.

The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, Sunday, June 12, 2011 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 11:00 AM.  Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, James Island.
