Timothy C. Hollis, Sr, 59, of Walterboro, SC, husband of Devra L'tanya Moultrie Hollis died Thursday, January 19, 2017. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL., 2119 Dorchester Road at 1:00 pm. Interment with military honors will be held at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in Stuhr's North Area Chapel.
Tim was born April 20, 1957 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Horace E. 'Ed' Hollis, Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Brown Hollis. He was an Air Force veteran and received his associate degree from Trident Technical College. His law enforcement career included working as a motorcycle police officer for the City of North Charleston and a patrol officer for the City of Walterboro. Tim also worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard where he taught motorcycle safety. He was tech savvy and enjoyed golf.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Devra Hollis; children: Timothy Hollis, Jr., Toni Hollis Linder and Darren Hollis; six grandchildren, Kayla Hollis, Lynndsey Hollis, Samantha Cornelius, Skyler Merchant, Deanna Merchant, Bentley Linder; five siblings: Horace E. Hollis, Jr., Barbara H. Ballard, Gladys P. Sill, Michael A. Hollis, and Donna H. Dunn; 20 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Andrea J. Williams and his brother, James R. Hollis
