Timothy (Tim) D. DeMars, 78, of Hollywood, South Carolina, beloved husband of Ann Marie Militello DeMars, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Tim was born on November 13, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Ira DeMars and Anna Merrigan DeMars.

From 1967 to 1970, Tim proudly served his country in the United States Army. A gifted percussionist, he performed with the Army Band, combining his love of music with his commitment to military service. Music remained a lifelong passion, working as a professional musician, sharing his talent with audiences and fellow performers.

Tim's creativity extended well beyond music. He was an accomplished freelance photographer. Many knew him as a master furniture craftsman whose dedication to woodworking produced heirloom-quality pieces admired for their beauty and precision. Several of his furniture creations were featured in prestigious woodworking journals, a testament to his exceptional skill, artistry, and attention to detail. His lifelong love of sailing provided endless adventures, amazing destinations, treasured memories and cherished time spent with family and friends on the water.

Professionally, Tim enjoyed a successful career in marketing and business leadership. He served as a marketing executive with Husqvarna and two divisions of Illinois Tool Works (ITW), where he earned the respect of colleagues for his vision, innovation, and professionalism.

In addition to his loving wife, Ann Marie, Tim is survived by his three sons, David, Kevin, and Ryan; his cherished grandson, Lane; and his brother, Marvin. Sister-in-laws, Fran DeMars, Patty (Don) Nolte, Donna (Howard) Tribble, Annie Militello-Bahrs (Tony), His brother-in-law Sam (Anna) Militello as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Diane Antczak (Roy); and his brothers, George, sister-in-law Delores DeMars, Jim (Judy); and Terry (Lorraine); and brother-in-law Timmy Militello.

Tim's legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the music he shared, the photographs he captured, the furniture he masterfully crafted, and the example he set through a life of creativity, service, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Leukemia Research Foundation.
