Tibor J. Villanyi was born April 21, 1924 in Baja, Hungary, the son of John Villanyi and Gizella Zvonarich Villanyi.
He fought as a FREEDOM FIGHTER against Communism in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. In 1957, he migrated to the U.S., where he worked as an electrical engineer for General Electric. During his 15 year employment, he was transferred to Charleston. After leaving GE, he worked for Cummins Engine Company for 15 more years, ending his career as a Technical Advisor. He was an inventor, developing six patents over his 30 year career.
He was the only surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gabriella Villanyi, a son, David S. Vance, and a daughter, Dr. Judy Villanyi and her husband, Richard Townes. He is loved, cherished and admired by friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all.
