Thomas Wayne Yeargin

Thomas (Tommy, Tom) Wayne Yeargin, Edisto Beach, South Carolina. Tom was born on March 15, 1960, in Gaffney, SC, and passed away at home on March 4, 2021, at the age of 60. He will be remembered as a devoted father with a huge smile and the love of his "Dixie Girl."

Survivors include two daughters: Rey Yeargin of San Diego, CA and Caroline Yeargin (Brandon) of Summerville, SC; one son, Tommy Yeargin of Summerville, SC; four brothers: Roger Yeargin (Cindy) of Lattimore, SC, Stanley "Dickie" Yeargin of Gaffney, SC, "Skeeter" Spencer of Gaffney, SC, Don Yeargin (Christina) of Gaffney, SC; three sisters: Tina Carter (Larry) of Rock Hill, SC, Tracy McCraw (Lynn) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Laura Humphries (Johnny) of Gaffney, SC; special friend, Kelley McCormick of Edisto Beach, SC;
special nephew, Stanley Yeargin (Sara) of Gaffney, SC.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald Richard Yeargin; mother, Martha Rogers Spencer; and stepmother, Betty Bloomer Yeargin.

Tom was a graduate of Gaffney High School, Class of 1978, where he was a track star, gaining an athletic scholarship to The Citadel. He owned two businesses on Edisto Island, Yeargin Construction, and Island Preferred Painting. Tom was an avid runner, volleyball player, dog lover, and fisherman. He was a member of several running clubs, volleyball leagues, and the Edisto Yacht Club.

An outdoor memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021, 11am at 1211Thistle Street, Edisto Beach, SC with Reverend Ashley Sanders officiating. This will be a casual service and we ask that everyone wear masks, social distance, and bring your own chairs. Parking will be limited, so carpooling is recommended. The service will be streamed on Facebook Live.
