Thomas Harlow Vaughan, 81, of Summerville, South Carolina, widower of Mary Alice Zorn Vaughan, entered into eternal rest Thursday, June 18, 2020. In consideration for the health and safety of all, all services will be private and by family invite. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.
Thomas was born October 10, 1938 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Guy Louis Vaughan and Minnie Thayer Benton Vaughan. He was a electrician at the Naval Shipyard as well as a diehard Clemson Tigers fan. Thomas faithfully worshipped our Lord and Savior for over 50 years at the Doorway Baptist Church of Charleston, where he enjoyed the roles of Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He also loved to sing in the church choir.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan V. Simmons (Jeffrey) of Aiken, SC and son, Thomas W. Vaughan, Sr. (Krista) of Columbia, SC; two granddaughters, Kirsta Simmons and Hannah K. Vaughan; grandson, Thomas W. Vaughan, Jr.; brother, Jack Vaughan (Katie) of Hanson, MA; two sisters, Brenda Zelasko (Jon) of John's Island, SC and Connie McGrew of Greenville, SC.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
