Thomas Wesley Tant, 98, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Corinne Holt Tant died Friday, January 27, 2017. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 a.m. Entombment, Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Wesley was born March 8, 1918 in Denmark, South Carolina, son of the late Thomas Mayfield Tant and the late Azilee Zorn Tant. He was a US Navy veteran and served during WWII. Wesley retired from Utilities Construction Company in Charleston. He was a member of Sullivan's Island Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife of 75 years, Corinne, he is survived by his children, Claudette T. Smith (David), Peggy T. Smith (William), Kathryn T. Hyland, and James W. Tant (Donna); eleven grandchildren, Robert, Thomas, Stephanie, Suzanne, Chalsey, Casey, Amy, Glynn, John, Amanda, and Angela; and sixteen great-grandchildren, Megan, Abby, Elijah, Caleb, Isaiah, Lily, Wayne, Ryan, Christopher, Joshua, Isabella, Mallory, Morgan, Madison, Emma, and Hunter.He was preceded in death by his sisters, Olena T. Smeltzer and Beatrice T. Purvis.
