Thomas Clark Smoak, 84, of Wando, South Carolina, husband of Josie Worsham Smoak passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013. The relatives and friends of Thomas Smoak are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Sunday, October 13, 2013 in the Wando Baptist Church, 1081 Reflectance Drive, Wando, SC, 29492 at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at the Wando Methodist Church Cemetery, Cainhoy Road, Wando SC . The family will receive friends Sunday, October 13, 2013 in the Wando Baptist Church from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm . Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Thomas was born on June 16, 1929 in Bamberg, South Carolina, son of the late John Franklin Smoak and Lucia (Smoak) Smoak . He was a Construction Foreman and a Berkeley County Magistrate for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Josie Smoak of Wando, SC; four daughters, Carol Ward and her husband, Junior of Wando, SC, Cathy Mason and her husband, Pudgie of Moncks Corner, SC, Joan Jones and her husband, Sheldon, of Moncks Corner, SC and Dianne Scott and her husband, Scotty, of Summerville, SC; his son, Thomas Clark Smoak Jr. and his wife Candy of McClellanville, SC; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Wando Baptist Church, 1081 Reflectance Drive, Wando, SC 29492 and/or Roper St. Francis Foundation, 125 Doughty Street, Charleston SC, 29403.
