Thomas James Smith

Thomas J. Smith, 59, of Charleston, South Carolina entered into eternal rest Monday, January 1, 2018. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service and burial services will be private.

Thomas was born May 20, 1958 in Putnam, Connecticut, son of the late Robert and Ruth Lindsley Smith. He was the former owner of Tom Smith Catering, an active member of the Tennis Club of Charleston and the Charleston Men's Chorus.

His commitment to his family was matched by his passion in his career and anything he put his heart into. From his witty jokes, creative touch, and infectious laugh, his love was felt by all. Tom was known by his children for his unconditional and unwavering patience, contagious smile, and endless hugs and kisses. His coworkers and employees from all seasons of his career knew him as a dedicated, hardworking and sincere boss, employee and most of all friend

.He is survived by his wife, Katherine Geartner Smith, daughter, Corrie Lyn Smith and son, Benjamin Thomas Smith. As well as his two brothers, Mark Smith, and Phillip Smith both of St. Petersburg, FL.
