Thomas Andrew Rubel, 88, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Barbara Anne Gilby Rubel entered into eternal rest Saturday, September 6, 2025. His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025 in the St. Benedict Catholic Church, 950 Darrell Creek Trail at 2:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Thomas was born August 14, 1937 in Waukegan, Illinois, son of the late Henry F. Rubel and the late Agnes D. Rubel. He was a grocery industry trendsetter surpassing 5 decades of operational excellence from store owner to CEO. He found pure joy in his faith, his family and floating through the deep powder of Alta, Utah.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Anne Rubel of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three children, Susan Knight of Jacksonville, FL, Richard Rubel of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Christian Rubel of Mt. Pleasant; and three grandchildren, Michael Knight, Alexander Rubel and Stephen Rubel.
