Thomas "Bobby" Readen, 87, of Charleston, SC, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, at his residence.

Bobby was born in Charleston, SC on April 20, 1937. He was the son of the late Fred Readen and Christine Claussen Readen.

Bobby was an entrepreneur, owning several businesses. He owned several service stations, a fence company, race horses, and several rental properties. He liked to travel overseas, and was a boat advocate for years. He loved fishing and shrimping with a saine net. He also had a love for fine wines.

He is survived by his sons, Thomas Readen, Jr., J. Troy Readen; daughter, Renee Readen Parsons (Don); grandchildren, Jeffery Readen, Jennifer Higdon (George), Wayne Greene (Morgan), Brandon Readen, Samantha Readen, Danielle Readen (Glenn), Lindsay Hanckel; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Readen, Fredricka Wilson, Dorothea Readen, Bertha Schwarz, Marie Readen, Mary Readen; and brother, Frederick Readen.

His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, March 9, 2025 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel.
