Thomas Parsons Hill, 76, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 13, 2024. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Wesley Chapel, Rock Hall, MD. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Thomas was born March 22, 1948 in Chestertown, Maryland, son of the late Charles Kenneth Hill and the late Catherine Audrey Parsons Newnam. After serving proudly in the United States Air Force, he had a long career, and retired from Verizon Telephone. Tommy will be greatly missed and will leave a huge hole in our lives. He was a wonderful Father, Brother, Uncle and Pop Pop. After raising his children as a single father after the sudden death of his beloved wife, Tommy moved to SC to enjoy the beach and well deserved retired life- and if you know anything about Heidi and Jay, you know it was well deserved. Tommy was typically the funniest person in the room and always a hit at the Senior Center! He was passionate about cars, politics, English dramas & murder mysteries, and getting his steps in. You would find him up early at the beach, after his morning coffee walking a few miles to get his day started. For many years, you could also catch him at the beach or pool with his grandson, Brody. He will be remembered for the way he loved his family, his dedication to his children and grandchildren, his everlasting humor, his laugh, his ability to always find the best out of life and his binoculars.
He is survived by his children, John Charles Hill of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Heidi Hatetia Hall of Odenton, MD; two brothers, Jack Newnam, and James Newnam; and two grandchildren, Brody Hill, Sophia Nita Hall. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded by his loving wife, Nita Miller Strong Hill.
