Thomas Eugene Myers

Thomas Eugene Myers, 76, of North Charleston, SC, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2023. 

Tommy was born 25 February 1947 in Summerville, South Carolina, to the late Eugene W. Myers and the late Dorris Mae Myers. Tommy met his future bride, Charlotte L. Smart after high school and they married in 1969.  Tommy and Charlotte were married for 54 years.  Tommy was an adoring husband, loving father, and a proud grandfather.

Tommy enjoyed a successful career working for the South Carolina Army National Guard where he retired in 2007 and attained the rank of Command Sergeant Major.

Tommy enjoyed many years being a member of several organizations, the Washington Light Infantry, The German Friendly Society, The Marion Marauders and the Sumter Guards.  Tommy was a former member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and worked there for 11 and a half years as the Sexton.  He recently became a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church and he loved his entire church family.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Myers of North Charleston, SC; two daughters, Michelle Myers Thompkins and her husband, Stacey Thompkins of North Charleston, SC, Melissa Myers of North Charleston, SC; two brothers, Ronald William Myers and his wife, Dianne Myers of North Charleston, SC and Donald Henry Myers of Charleston, SC; two grandchildren, Alesandra Grace Thompkins, Abigail Hope Thompkins. 

His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 2:00 pm.  Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in Stuhr Northwoods Chapel.
