Thomas Rupert Miller

Thomas Rupert Miller, 74, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Carol DeCoske Miller entered into eternal rest Friday, September 9, 2022. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel. Interment at Beaufort National Cemetery with military honors will be held Monday, September 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm.

Thomas was born December 23, 1947 in Elyria, Ohio, one of eight children of the late Rupert Miller and Mary Derr Miller. He graduated from Elyria High School, Elyria, Ohio. He attended Lorain County Community College, and earned his degree from The Ohio State University. Thomas served in the US Marine Corps including an assignment at Camp Lejeune, NC. He flew helicopters and attained the rank of captain. He was an area manager of Castrol a subdivision of British Petroleum. Later he was an agent of Caroline One real estate and a member of Amvets. Thomas was a member of Isle of Palms Methodist Church. He will be remembered most for the way he loved his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carol; son, Jeff Miller (Valerie) of Atlanta, GA, daughter, Nicole Van Sandt (Dylan) of Fort Mill; two sisters, Marilyn Martinez of Elyria, OH, Cathy Colton of College Park, MD; three brothers, Jerald Miller of Cincinnati, OH, Dennis Miller of Charleston, Alan Miller (Debbie) of Cincinnati, OH, Keith Miller (Tina) of Cincinnati, OH; four grandchildren, Annabelle Miller, Grace Miller, Wyatt Miller, and Jackson Van Sandt; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Miller, and grandson, John Thomas Miller.
