Thomas Crawford Love

Thomas Crawford Love, Sr., 74, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday January 10, 2015. Born April 1, 1940 in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late Julius Jones and Margaret Crawford Love. He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Frances Barrow Love. He is survived by his wife Linda Heise Love of Mt. Pleasant, SC, his sister Margaret (Cranston) Blanks of Charlotte, NC, son Thomas Crawford (Susan) Love, Jr. of Scottsdale, AZ, daughter Harriet (Craig) Canfield of Watkinsville, GA, granddaughters Callae (Albert) Rinaudo, Cotton Canfield, and Christi (Jay) Bailey, great granddaughters Cara and Jessica Bailey, step-daughters Terrie (Peter) Silcox of Stuart, FL, and Leslie (George) Milner of Doylestown, PA, and grandchildren Christopher Silcox, Jessica, Anna, and Rachel Milner.
Crawford grew up in Spartanburg, SC and earned degrees from Clemson and the Institute of Textile Technology (ITT) in Virginia. He became President and General Manager of Sweetbriar Shops in Denver, CO before his adventurous spirit took him to Ft. Lauderdale where he and Franny enjoyed many years on their 40ft sail boat, The Columbine. After Franny's passing, Crawford was blessed to meet Linda and he quickly felt at home in Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of the Saint Andrews Church in Mt. Pleasant and a successful Benefits Consultant with the Alpine Agency as one of the top producers. He will be remembered for his love of electronics and a long-time amateur radio operator. Family and friends will miss his devotion, sense of humor and inquisitive nature.
The family would like for friends to join them in a celebration of his life at St. Andrews Church - Mt. Pleasant, 440 Whilden Street in the Old Village on Saturday February 21, 2015 at 4:00 PM. Interment will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MUSC Foundation, 18 Bee Street, MSC 450, Charleston 29425 or the Athens Regional Foundation Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support, 1199 Prince Avenue Athens, Georgia 30606.
